Established in spring 2017, Football for Fathers is a community based club for football-loving Dads based in-and-around the Hertfordshire towns of Hitchin and Letchworth.
Football for Fathers is a subscription based club, and we run football sessions on a weekly basis for Dads of all abilities, aged 30 and above, as well as tournaments and social events. Through activities, sponsorship and our players' generous donations we also support local good causes and charities.
In under three years Football for Fathers has evolved from seven mates playing 'jumpers for goalposts' in the park to 300+ signed-up players playing competitive football together across more than six weekly sessions.
Our founding principles of inclusivity, wellbeing, enjoyment, community spirited and health and safety ensure our busy Hertfordshire Dads (and now Mums!) all enjoy the benefits of regular football and team spirit, with a few pints thrown in for good measure...
Our 2019 Players' Survey, completed by 80% of our Dads, highlighted the enormous benefits being part of Football for Fathers can provide.

Football for Fathers now run five weekly sessions in Hitchin, including a Womens' football session on Thursdays. We also run a new Monday session in nearby Letchworth on Herts FA's beautiful 3G pitch at the County Ground, and have new Wednesday sessions planned in both Hitchin and Letchworth.
You can sign-up to a session, and/or register your interest in playing in full or future sessions via the forms on our Sessions pages. Click the location below and come and join us!
The team behind Football for Fathers are now running Women’s Football Sessions in Hitchin for beginners.
The sessions take place on Thursday evenings (8-9pm) at Hitchin Boys School astro pitches on Fishponds Road. They are coached by the brilliant Hannah Bingham from Herts FA.
The majority of players are beginners so if you've thought about playing football but been worried about what level you would be at - fear not, come and join in along with everyone else.
The session is now currently at capacity but we're considering expanding it later this spring. You can register your interest and join our waiting list via the button below.
